FYI, i own the smaller one. I did not permanently install it but instead use it as a portable. The wiring and thermostat are installed. I just plug it in when i want to use it and unplug it and take it out of the van when i don't. The coldest i camped with just the small plat cat was 5 degrees F. at the base of the mountain at Teton Village in Wyoming. It wasn't toasty, but it was warm and comftorable enough. I found that the small one is fine for temps. around 20-30 degrees at night. i am posting this for those who might prefer to get the smaller one due to size limitations. several list members have done permanent installations of the larger model and are very happy with that set up. steve Robyn Rudisill wrote: > If you want to know more check out... http://users.tss.net/thermal/index2.html > > The info I was given today: > > Pricing: Factory Direct $378.95 > Elevation: No limit > Model: 6P12 is best for Vanagon > > We price the 3P12 and 6P12 the same. > Heat output is the equivalent to an electric heater at 750 Watts for the > 3P12 and 1500 Watts for the 6P12, so go with the 6P12 if you can make it fit. > > later. > robyn |
