Thanks to those who've replied, The fuel pump function is intermittent. I can jump some pins on Darrell's digitool and make it work. I also noticed that the coil light tends to dim/flicker on the tool. In a search of the archives for ignition switch replacement I found some mention of coil function also being affected by a defective ignition switch. I also found a great description of how to replace the electrical half of the ignition switch. Thanks Tyrone. The dealer has the part for around $10. The main problem here is that I have no "pullers." What tools will I need to remove the steering wheel and the wiper/turn signal switch assemblies? Thanks in advance. -- David Bogle '72 Campmobile 2.0L '87 Vanagon GL Syncro Westfalia |
