My '85 Westy suddenly has a real rough cold idle and after warming, a fast idle (1800 rpm). There is a wire that runs with some tubes/hoses in the passenger side rear wheelwell that I accidently jerked while tapping the starter with a hammer (I have the new starter, just haven't installed it yet). I checked in the engine compartment and the wire is still connected. I haven't yet traced it back in the other direction. Anyone know where this wire ends up under the vehicle? Anyone know the purpose of this wire? Any chance this wire is related to my idle problem? Any other ideas? TIA, Ken Ehlert 1985 Westy 1964 Convertible Beetle |
