I was going to scroung junk yards for a fuel pump, water pump, alternator, fuel injection parts, wiring stuff, coolent stuff and of course nuts and bolts. Thanks for the help Cheers >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Not to be trite, namesake, but you shouldn't use this van if you expect so many things might fail you. As self-appointed list spokesman (or read: a**hole) for Preventative Maintenance, I would urge you to save your money, and space in your van, and don't buy ANY junk parts to take with you. Junk parts might be an economical alternative if you can put them to a test around town. But, when your butt is freezing on the side of the road because your fuel pump went to be with Jesus, you are going to loose your mind after you spend 45 minutes on your back, in the snow, only to find that your "back-up" fuel pump doesn't work. If money is an issue, borrow or rent a car, or take the train for your trip. If you have a few bucks to put into your van, do so. Spend your money preparing your van, replacing the things that are suspect. Bring some basic tools and a AAA card. You will enjoy your trip a lot more if your butt isn't puckered about every sound you hear under the van... Best of luck, gmb |
