This would work fine for the rear springs as there is no strut running up the middle of them. The problem with the front springs is if you insert a shim there is a real danger of having the springs pop out sideways. There is one of two solutions here... raise the spring perch by designing another one that slips on over top ( I did this and it is quite difficult ) or getting a new spring wound. I am one for being safe so the new set of spring is the only real option in my opinion. The shims on top of the rear springs are great and safe, mine is about 5cm taller on the rear right now.
