Subject: SOUTH AFRICA! I'm going back:who wants goodies????

Everyone,

I am going back to South Africa on Tues for 10 days. A shorter trip than the one I took in June, but I have more Vanagon parts contacts now.

I MAY be willing to look into buying certain parts for people and ship them back. But it depends on the logistics (size, shipping costs, etc.).

I will be buying several items to sell (and hopefully defray part of the cost of the trip! ;) ) that we don't have here. If YOU are interested, contact me so I have an idea what and how many I should bring back.

I will be bringing back a couple of FACTORY Golf exhaust manifolds for using the golf engine in the Vanagon. These have the proper angle for the exhaust. I'm not sure if what the story is with the factory Audi manifold, but I will find out.

Exhaust pipes are also available, but are bulky.

I will also be bringing back a few nifty bellhousing adapter plates which will allow one to install a golf engine without having to buy a diesel bellhousing.

I'm also going to look into new springs, I heard that on the Caravelle model the springs are shorter.

Also available are the Quad Light grilles.

Oh, in case you didn't follow my posts from the earlier trip: In SA they still make vanagons except without the Wasserboxer engine. There are 3 engine options, 1.8L golf, 2.3L, or 2.6L 5 cylinder Audis.

I can send the original posts if anyone wants.

Also, I sent back a lot of pictures which were up on a couple of sites, courtesy of a couple of listees. I don't know if they're still up.

I will be in Email contact while I'm there, but for at least 5 days I won't have access.

James

PS I found a sales flyer for the SA vans from my last trip. I'll scan it and make it available. But I don't think I should post it and use up bandwidth.
