I received some pmails asking me where one could buy the
Platinum Cat heater.
Originally I saw that heater in a marine heating supply store.
When I called Thermal Systems today to verify their address,
they told me that one can buy them directly from the company,
and in fact, they have a special offer now factory direct.
The 3,000 and 6,000 btu sell for the same price,
regularly, $520, for $378.95 now.
The company producing the Platinum catalytic heater
is a fairly small specialized operation.

By the way, I don't work for them. I just believe
that they put out a quality product that I hope will
continue to be available in the future.

For those considering purchasing the nonvented Olympian
cat heater, open the box first and read all the warnings.
Like, for example, Olympian Heater operating instructions says:
"For continued high efficiency operation it is recommeded
that the catalyst pad be replaced every 3 years and sooner
if abnormal operation of pad is noticed. Catalyst pad
replacement must be done at the factory."
Another warning:
"Catalytic Pad Poisoning. It usually can be noticed by
reduced heat, propane odor, and/or difficulty in lighting etc."

If you have to replace the pad every 3 years
on the Olympian nonvented cat heater,
that makes the vented plat cat heater a bargain.
