I figured that Chris had his wires crossed on this one. The best way to fix the motor sticking up problem is to do what the SA VW folks did and raise the entire back deck the extra inch and a bit. Then you have a even rear deck (without having to make a funky though functional engine lid like Helmut did) and you can just either shave an inch and a bit from your exsisting Westie rear foam (hey, it would still be thicker than the foam in the upper bed) or get some thinner firm foam from an upholstery shop. Why have I been thinking about this so much? Still a mystery that I will hopefully be able to reveal very soon. Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16
