Does this seem reasonable to folks here? Should I take the time to go all the way to LA to see this? Any thoughts, opinions, ideas?>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

That's a fella who doesn't want to sell his Westy.

At the last Buggout (Manassas) a fella named George and his lovely sweetie Carrie, took second place for their pristine 1978 Westy (they were missing original paint on some part, and the judges couldn't give them first because of it). Anyway, point being, George estimated the value of his at around $8k or $9k.

This guy is nuts. Maybe if it had 80 miles on the odometer, and had never been restored, and none of the seats had been sat in, and the tires were original, and the radio had never been turned on, and the air inside was from Germany, and it had been garaged, better yet, mothballed by the military, with cosmoline dripping off everything and the motor all sealed up. THEN it could be worth $12k or more. But he may find that ONE person who is looking to recapture misspent youth, and will spend some retirement money...
