I really don't want to get into the fray of this latest tire math discussion. But a few years ago I played with some alternative tire/rim combinations on another vehicle. It seemed to me that the amount of lower radius reduction which occurs as a result of foot print "crush" formation can vary significantly between different tire designs. It was maddening that it didn't seem to be only related to psi and unloaded diameter, but they didn't adequately explain our observations. So I wasn't so skeptical about the non-intuitive vehicle-height/tire-diameter suggestion. If loaded tire treads formed

nearly perfect circles, the simple intuitive ratio relationship would always exist.

Confusion reigns, but it never pours. John
