<< 3. 5 Speed Trans! I have new info. First, it ain't cheap here, about $2000! But that's because it's IMPORTED! It's made in Austria and apparently can be bought there for about half the price. 1 Grand for a 5 speed? That's a deal. I have no other info yet. I hope to find out the name of the factory. I would guess, however, it's the same one who made the Syncro. >> Actually the 5 speed trans is made at the same place that the syncro trans is made (Stiche, Diemler, Puch please forgive spelling) and is custom made for VW of SA by them and then imported. They sell for $2200 US from VW of SA and would probably be cheaper from the manufacturer if you can talk them into selling you one. I am checking into getting some as we speak at a much lower cost. I'll let the list know when I find out how much they are going to be. Ken Wilford Van-Again John 3:16
