Well, who would've guessed it would happen in less than a year of owning our Westy? But, my wife smashed the side of our prize possession when exiting a gas station. She simply misjudged and turned into a metal post at the end of the pump isle.

The short of it is we cannot open the door and it obviously needs fixing. I plan to bring it to an auto body shop soon but wondered if anyone knows how much this might run us to repair($?). It's an '88 Westy GL, light blue and is dented the length of the door to the point that it bulges slightly on the interior. No metal gouges, but the post's white paint left streaks on the door. I presume it might be best to drill and pull it out if there is no structural damage to the rails and supports. If I need to replace the door, what will that cost?

Thanks for any feedback.

Frustrated but glad it wasn't anything more serious - Steve '88 Westy
