Never had anything die in the vent system, but we just got done removing
and thoroughly cleaning the ducts and the inside of the heater on our 87
van (have to take the whole dash out) to fix very impressive smell of mouse
piss.    Also replaced the heater motor at the same time, since it had
frozen.

I also sealed up the corners of the air vents where mice can get in on both
vans with duct tape and wire mesh....

For any geneticists on the list, how about genetically engineering some
mice to piss new-car smell?   I bet Ron could sell dozens to the list.
