They found a 'hidden' compartment [probably used for hiding a gun] that 'could' have been used for hiding drugs, therefore kept her car! Maybe had something to do with it that she had TX plates... Makes me think, the vanagon has 'hidden' compartments galore. Under the seats for one... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Our beloved previous owner, who is a VERY good soul, (retired red cross nurse), is a delightful grey-haired charmer, like Mrs. Olsen from those ancient Folger's commercials. While she had the van in Germany, she had a false bottom put in the Westy hanging closet. Very convincing, same wall paper and everything, sits about 8" off the real floor.

She used this for hauling chocolate and coffee across the border to Croatia and Bosnia. While she was there she'd hand this contraband out to refugees she was helping. She loaded up the second battery compartment with the same, and also used the area at the back of the Westy upper bed. She said that she never once had problems at the border; of course, she looks like Mrs. Olsen. But I guess I may REMOVE that hidden compartment.
