Every time I buy gas I have to pump really slowly or else the automatic shut off on the gas nozzle triggers. It takes @ 15 minutes to fill the tank.

I have checked the overflow tanks and all the adapters that fit into the top of the tank and the rubber seals and all are okay.

Before I remove the tank and check for an obstruction that might be causing the gas to back up the filler pipe I thought I would ask if there is something obvious that I am overlooking.

Never had this problem with the '84 and as far as I can see the assembly looks the same.
