Subject: Downshifting into 2nd: whining sound

Having problems downshifting into second. This is a fairly new problem in the last 2-3 weeks. It makes a sort of soft whining sound, but will eventually get there after a few tries. I topped of the transaxle fluid (added maybe a cup) this weekend, but no change in the shifting. The bus (84 weekender) has 204K on it, but the transaxle was rebuilt by PO. Is this an indicator of a bad transaxle, or starting to be bad? I am ready to embark on a 2000+ mile Grad School trip, so I need a peace of mind before I head out. thanks -Matthew Pollard
