NEW 4.88 LITER VW-BASED ENGINE COMING SOON - The VWx2 Coming soon to an airport near you is our new engine, called the "VWx2". It will have the following features and specifications: 8 cylinders; 4.88 Liters/298 cubic inches displacement; dual, computer-controlled, inductive discharge ignition; dry sump oil system; 65 amp alternator; 240 hp at 3000 rpm normally aspirated with our ram- induction system or 350+ hp at 2900 rpm supercharged and intercooled, at a weight of 340 pounds. It measures only 40" long x 31" wide x 15" high, excluding induction system. This engine is built from new parts which are mostly off-the-shelf, making overhaul parts readily available world wide. The proprietary parts consist of our custom crankshaft, #4 main bearings, propeller hub/flange, various brackets and our low-rpm, high-torque camshaft. This engine can be built to rotate in either direction and operate with the crankshaft vertically oriented for use in helicopters. The INTRODUCTORY price for this engine is $16,995.00 U.S. normally aspirated or $19,995.00 supercharged, plus freight and crate. Helicopter versions are slightly higher. |
