Hello, I had a helicoil installed in 87 put in wrong leaks, mentioned this in the past. I called the VW dealer to get the size of the drain plug so I can find a replacement. Dealer says it's 14 X 125 thread pitch 13 mm. I'm thinking this is the OEM drain plug and that the helicoil necessitated a new larger drain plug with a different thread pitch. Do I have to pull out the newer (helicoil) drain plug and have someone idenify the pitch for me. Excuse my ignorance but I don't change my own oil and this would be pain. I'd rather just give the mechanic a differnt drain plug and have him install it. Of course it would have to be the correct size. Thanks in advance Craig Charles 87 Westy |
