I discovered 2 nice Hella driving lights the other day at a flea market. There about 6.5" round and 2.76" thick with an all chrome shell. The guy said that they came off of a 60's Mercedes. I took 1 apart and the light (bulb) sticks into a metal thimble which is gun metal blue - probably from the heat. Can anyone shed some light on how these work? Does the bulb heat the metal thimble enough to give off light or is it just a reflector? I plan on using them on my Vanagon Gary Baltimore 88GL |
