Dear Mark,

What does "disconnect" mean? Did you "rip out" any wiring??? Technically, the only thing one needs to do to de-activate the power locks on a Vanagon is pull out the 20 amp fuse "S52" which is located on top of the fusebox (not on the bottom row!), among the accessory relays, on the second row, second in from the right (position 23).

I see nothing in Bentley that suggests any obvious relationship between the two circuits. Perhaps you accidentally unplugged something else...

Also: do you also have power windows? power mirrors?
