I don't know that I would agree with this...my partner has damaged our vehicles 4 times while driving (good thing for him that I am laid back about such things), while I have had nothing worse happen to me than not seeing some nails in the road soon enough and getting a flat tire due to hitting it. He's never gotten any speeding tickets tho'. ;) I think it is more based on driving experience and spatial relations ability truthfully. Do you drive more when you go out, or your partner? I almost always drive...I think that it makes a difference as well because I am more used to the movement and handling and size of the vanagon...
