Subject: availability of Yoko 370
Comments: To: "vanagon@vanagon.com" <vanagon@vanagon.com>

I ordered a set of the Yokohama 370 (LT195-75-14D) from TireRack last week. Gave them the Yoko part number and made damn sure I was ordering the correct tire but they sent 356s instead. When I called them they tried to get me to take the 356s and said that they could no longer get the 370s. A local tire store gave me the same story--the 370 is no longer available. So I called Yokohama today and got the scoop on these tires. The 370 is on "national backorder," ie there aren't any in the warehouse. However the tire is not discontinued--they will be available again in approximately 30 days.
