<P>The symptom was that the fuel pump function became intermittent and then stopped working at all.&nbsp; This was after I soldered a 25 lead ribbon wire onto the ECU for the use of one of Darrell Boehler's digitools.&nbsp; Luckily the digitool told me that this was the problem by the FP light not coming on.&nbsp; It also allowed me to jump some pins on the tool and make the pump come on.

<P>I replaced the electrical half of the ignition switch on the advice of some listmembers.&nbsp; This was fairly easy, cheap and fun.&nbsp; Still, there was no FP. I did notice that the headlight wire insulation was a little melted there near the ignition switch.

<P>Darrell loaned me another ECU and <I>voila.&nbsp; </I>The ECU is the problem.

<P>Next weekend I'll figure out from where the coolant is leaking.&nbsp; Looks like the plastic "distributor" on the right side of the engine may have suffered a crack during my tweaking of the hoses.
