Guys! If you wanna get your syncros higher, instead of getting your coils lengthened or beefed up and as a result of that a need to buy new ones if you´re not pleased with the result due to the looks or the raised center of gravity, try to insert distance blocks between the coil and body! Larry wrote about nylon washers and that may be the only solution but I would think that at some shop that sells coils and shocks - or maybe even at the wreckyard - you could find something that would fit . What I´m aiming at are those rubber "bushings" that among others SAAB and Mercedes use on their coils to get a more "quiet " suspention and that are about ½ - 1 inch thick depending on model. I know from experience that they work OK - used them on a Volvo to get better ground clearance while rallying - and if you only find the right size, not only do you get better clearance and softer ride but you will be able to easily change back too ! And if they aren´t thick enough use one at each end! Don't forget a couple of other things though: Somewhere -can´t recall where right now- I´ve seen extention rods for the shocks , maybe this aren´t the right way to correct them but you should concider some way of moving the place where the absorbers are fastened or buy new taller ones if you raise a lot othervice they will bottom- or top- out wich will both shorten their lives and restrict the bodys ability to move around and if the later happens you´re back to square one - right And for the same reason look at the anti-sway bars! I hope you´re still determined to go through with this, if ever in doubt take a look at Projectzwo´s photo gallery , http://www.projectzwo.de/ and I think youll be encouraged by the looks of their "offroaders" ! Good Luck :-) Calle -88 Vanagon Mullhyttan, Sweden
