Hi Volks,

As one of the list's Air Force members, thought I might give the maintainers viewpoint. Most of the current flight deck intrumentation I have seen has displayed light orange or pale yellow hues for neutral information... .green hues for critical status indications and the obligatory flashing yellows and reds for when things get really bad (please put your tray tables in their upright and locked positions). Most of the instrument panels are plexiglas composites with 4 or 5 28v incandescent lamps lighting up the plexiglas "channels".

As far as painting existing dash lamps in our VWs... I find myself wishing for more light and think the paint would reduce the already marginal light levels. My .02 of your tax pennies....

Scott De Santi... 86 Vanagon ( parking lot stainer...till I finish replacing that o-ring in the AM)
