I live in Canada and have never been pulled over in my Westy. However, when crossing the border into the States, we (my wife, two school age kids and a dog and I) have repeatedly asked to leave the van, out comes the dogs and practically the SWAT team to search the Westy. I mean really. Of course my wife is mortified because the van is in its usual disarray and they might find a beer cap and won't let us across- but after a thorough check, we are allowed into the country. And come to think of it, I have been searched everytime I cross the border in the Westy. Hmmm. As far as the other side goes, at the Canadian border crossing, we tell them the only alcohol we're bringing back is a half bottle of wine in the fridge and they say, "Have a good day, eh." Sometimes it's great to be back home again.
