Has anyone lengthened the shifter linkage on their automatic so that the shifter was up high next to the steering wheel? The reason I ask is that a coworker of mine, who uses a wheelchair, is looking to relocate the shifter closer to the steering wheel for ease of use. Lengthening the shifter won't work because the drive position would put the shifter about an inch past the drivers right ear. Ideas, suggestions encouraged... Michael B.
