As I recall, a Swedish insurance company crashed a Vanagon head on into a Volvo wagon. Since I own both vehicles, I was intrigued with the results. Somewhat surprisingly, the Volvo did very poorly, as the Vanagon rode up and over the Volvo hood and into its passenger compartment. Attached are the test result numbers. I tried to attach the scans of the crash results, but the List server refused them as too lengthy. I will forward them to individual listees who so request. I think there are two important lessions here. First, the laws of physics dictate that a heavy, high vehicle will have an advantage when colliding with a lighter, lower vehicle. Second, NEVER run into another Vanagon! (Besides the obvious catastrophic personal carnage, this would likely result in the removal of two more of a diminishing breed (brand?) from our ranks.
