In my original request, I told my tale of woe that my brights are stuck on even with the ignition switch turned off. It appears that there is no relay for this circuit. Kent Christensen suggests that the flasher may be the culprit. This (like the relay idea) makes sense as it seems to be "relay- type" problem--pulling the fuses and replacing "resets" the system, and temporarily solves the problem. Does anyone know, is the flasher switch a common flasher (like the one on all the GM cars I have owned), or is this a complex flasher unique to VW's? I assume it is located somewhere near the fuses?? Again, this is an 83. Thanks for all the suggestions. |
