Subject: Water Leak on 2.1 - Advise needed
Comments: To: vanagon@VANAGON.COM

I went away about 10 days ago and discovered when I got to my destination(250km away), that I had lost 1.5 Liters. On my way home I had to put in another 1.5 Liters. I have since gone through two tanks of petrol with no further water loss. Last night I looked under my Syncro and I think I have found the source of the leak. There is a water distributor/adaptor/thing near the starter that has two pipes going into it from the back of the car about 1" thick and two pipes coming out to the front of the car, one 3/4" and the other 1.5" (a guess at the measurement).

There is water seeping from this. Does any one know if you can repair it or if it comes apart or has anyone had any dealings with the part. Does it just provide a mechanism to join the four pipes or is there something else inside it???

When I remove it, will I loose all my water?

Thanks
