I brazed mine by clamping it to a piece of sheet metal and filling the cavity with braze metal. I then cut the sheet metal to shape and built up a fillet at the corner, and rebored the hole. It's been fine so far. You have to use bronze brazing rod, the silver won't build up.... I imagine welding could do as well. They cost $25 or more from the dealer. :(
