but I must warn you that as a mechanic I would advise anyone with a halfway decent motor to please not put any oil additives into thier motor (Slick 50, Motor UP, CD-2, motor Honey, any Teflon based additive et al). Why? These additives usually do nothing beneficial in a motor (usually find it in a big clump on the bottom of the oil pan when it comes time to rebuild the motor) and can in fact damage a good motor by restricting oil galleys and other orifices inside the motor.

Just thought I'd throw my 2 cents as well...I used duralube in my "80 westy last year right before a large trip through the Rockies and into the Tetons. I made it as far as as Jackson Hole when I realized that I was down an entire quart of oil (usually would have used a 1/4 of a quart at most) When I went to add more I noticed a white bubbly residue on the inside of the oil filler cap. It's like it just burnt the quart of duralube up in less than 500 miles. Put in another quart of valvoline 10w/40 and had no prob's the rest of the trip. Never touched the stuff again! Todays oil is far better than it was when Volksie engineers designed the oil/air cooled system, so it must be suffecient!?anyone else had similar prob's???
