Sorry, but this isn't quite true. Properly maintained, you can expect well over 100,000 miles, and there are listmembers out there with over 200,000.

There is no reason a rebuild shouldn't last as long as a new engine would. No doubt that GEX build engines that are only designed to last a day or two longer than the warranty. They cut the corners and take the risk. GEX can always blame you later on or claim your engine overheated.

I only had to rebuild my brand new GEX engine 3 times, and I now have about 15k on the latest rebuild. I consider myself lucky to have gotten that many miles.

60k? now that's living on borrowed time with a GEX.
