This is a second plea for advice. I'm hoping someone who didn't see the first one will answer. I was going to remove the engine from my 82 Westy (2 L type 4 with auto trans.) but ran into a major snag. Haynes says to remove a plug from the front of the engine and rotate the engine until you see a bolt that holds the ?? (I haven't got the book and I can't remember what it is: part of the auto trans) to the flywheel. Remove that bolt and two others, and you can then remove the engine in the usual manner. However, I can't see how you can get at that bolt. You could get a socket through the hole, but there are bits of the engine in the way, and I don't see how you could put a ratchet or a bar onto the socket. Anyone done this? (The one response I got said to take out the engine and trans in one unit, and I could do that but I think I have to have the entire vehicle two feet in the air, and my carport isn't high enough for that.) Thanks.
