It must depend on what part of the country your in. Either that, or folks around hear don't really know or care about "technical" VW history. Most of the age group with these questions have been from middle-aged MEN who at the time where all running around in non-VW vehicles. When it comes time for me to sell my 85 GL, I don't care what they call it as long as I can call it sold. :-) I myself, could care less and will continue to call it both, along with a few "other" names. :-) "Technically" a Vanagon "IS NOT" a BUS. All those who are too ignorant or don't care should be SHOT or flogged! This, of course, excludes me as I am from a disfunctional family and am not responsible for my actions. :-)

Bill tired from waxing all that metal on my Westy today.
