Try using a black magic marker, that should cover the letters. I used a black marker on the outside of my van with good results. The *chrome* trim around my windows was pretty faded so I blacked them out with a marker. It lasted all summer with many washings. Good luck with your new tires, many people on the list use them with good results. Mine have over 30K with plenty of life in them. Ken Herman 86 Syncro Westy
