That's the only way I could see a diff lasting that long..... the number one killer of VW bus/vans is because it has so much room inside everyone just figures... well lets load her up....and later down the road.... the old rumble starts...that's also one of the things that's so hard to figure/assess on a used van... it's best, to just ask.... how much can you get in here?... if the PO says... OH TONS... we just pile it all in and haven't had any problems yet.... You will... and lots of old buses were just bought in the spring and used one summer for a cross country trip in which they tried to bring along ever thing... then it's sold in the fall... your best used Vanagon is a one owner...who didn't overload, changed the antifreeze every 2 years, and kept on top of the servicing, if they did, they will have all the records, if they don't have the records... buyer be prepared -----Original Message----- From: Mark Rokus >Concerning this specific van, I recently (~3000 miles ) purchased it and >from the looks of the interior I believe it had little use.
