No I did not. After talking with Chris He thought that the custom engine that I am building would be able to handle the gap. I wanted the fifth gear tall enough to cut the RPMs to increase the gas mileage at crusing speed. AND fouth gear can go up to about 90 mph at 5600 RPMS rpms and the engine I am building can take 6000 RPMs. (Full engine details to follow for those interested.)

>or do you think that the engine will pull this >OK?

I think that the engine will pull this OK. I know of one automatic that is turning 3100 RPMS at 70 mph.

>Seems that the engine will loose a lot of rpms >with a stock 4th >and will be sluggish getting up to cruise speed.

When I shift to fifth, I can be at 70. I am going to do some final gear adjustment with the tire/15" rim change.

My main goal was to reduce engine RPMS and increase engine efficiency. If I left it a .82 the RPMs would not drop much, so I decided to go with a .70 to drop the RPMs and details to follow on engine.
