Michael, However I wonder if the Vanagon doesn't -need- those RPM's to push our un-aerodynamic boxes down the freeway at 70+ mph. I tend to want to trust the Blackforest guys on thier gearing calculations that they performed on our machines before considering an extremely expensive gear changeout/tranny changeout (I have seriously considered both). IMHO, the only merit for gear/tranny swap is in tandem w/engine swap.
