Dear Listees,

I need your help, please. I have just made a horizontal gash of about seven inches in my pop-top's canvas. It is directly under the bottom of the "window" that opens onto the luggage area. Needless to say, I am heartsick. Is there a quick and easy way to keep it from getting any bigger? Aesthetics is not an issue; I am, however, unsure of how to proceed. A type of darning, perhaps? Hot glue on the ends, to keep it from widening? A patch over the whole area? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
