The bulk of the new investment (~ 50 Billion DM) is to go into developing new models, Handelsblatt newspaper said in its Friday edition. The group plans to develop 10 new models, boosting its range to over 50 different types of vehicles, the paper said. ... The company's new T5 Transporter model is to roll off production lines from 2001 and form the basis for VW's joint project with Porsche AG to develop a new sport utility vehicle, the paper said.
