Quite good reasoning about fixing it before it completely grenades. Guilty, guilty, guilty.... A few posts back and forth with Todd Hill and he assures me that to take it apart and re-do it, I should expect to start at $650.00 as a minimum. Sheepish answers to your questions: (1) In this case, I have been monitoring the oil regularly, and I believe it to just be bearing wear. Not too much on the magnet. I know that dosen't mean everything but at least it is not starting to frag. (2) I have two of these and I have to decide which one to do first. (3) I love to drive it so much and I can't bring myself to go back to my rabbit. (4) I rarely change just the bad bearing, If I'm in there, I'll do as complete a job as I am able. Thus, more $$. (5) I need to complete a few more pressing projects before I spread a Syncro tranny all over my garage. (6) Lazy??? , scared of missing correct pinion depth???, other assorted excuses......
