Helmut, that thought crossed my mind too. The early buses used them, why can't we? This would change the drive to the proper direction, but would give a gear reduction. Kinda defeats the purpose of putting the Audi trans in the van in the first place.

I seem to recall looking at the Audi 5000 gearbox and concluding that the diff flip is not possible, but haven't checked the 4000 or vw fox trans yet. Maybe some hope there.
