The recommended tire pressure can be found on a sticker either located on the front part of your drivers door jam or under the dash on the drivers side. Strangely, if my memory is correct, it is not the same throughout all model years, even on like models (Westies for example) that came equipped with the same size tires. I recall my '85 and my '89 recommending slightly different pressures, for example. The rears always get more pressure, up to 48 psi as I recall, while the fronts get about 30, a condition which partially explains why reinforced sidewall tires are a must (since conventional passenger car tires are rarely rated for inflation above 40 psi). This assumes that you are using the stock 185R14 tires. The recommended rear tire pressure is considerably lower if you are running the wider 205 series tires found on some later models. But check your sticker for the exact numbers. - Ron Salmon The Bus Depot http://www.busdepot.com |
