Greetings all. Last I posted about this I had the u-joints rebuilt, shaft balanced, but could not eliminate the vibration at about 65 kph. Also had a low end vibration at about 20 to 25 kph. Well I have picked up a used shaft, still original joints and my 65 kph vibration is gone. But there still remains a 20 to 25 kph vibration. Now I am going thru the time consuming task of trying all 16 possible combinations for alignment. Out of curiousity I tried driving down the street in reverse up to a speed which felt like 20 or 25 kph and no vibration at all, in fact extremely smooth. Because both driveshafts exhibited the same vibes at this low speed, I'm beginning to suspect other parts of the drivetrain. An inner front CV ? Differential play or bearings ?. Any insight would be much appreciated. -- R.Feuerriegel 88 syncro |
