Hi! I was referred to you by Kyle at VW Motorsports. He suggested I tell you my problem and see if anyone has any suggestions. I have an '84 Westy. It's an Automatic. Everything is OE. It has a new ECU, new exhaust, recent oil & fuel filter change, clean injectors, etc. It only gets 11MPG! It seems to take about 25min. for the engine temp gauge to reach halfway on the dash. This is the highest the gauge ever reads. Is this normal? I have been told that I need a new coolant temp sensor, ecu, 02 sensor, and thermostat. I have had estimates from $18U.S. to $325U.S. Every place I go tells me something different but I get the feeling that they just want my wallet. I live in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada so good VW knowledge is hard to come by. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Trent Wessner twessner@cableregina.com |
