It could be bad gas. If you haven't added any FI cleaner in your tank for awhile, maybe now is the time. I only use Chervron Techron brand. It does a good job and comes highly rated by many local mechanics.

However, your problem can also be the VW hippy hippy shake syndrome. :-) Only seems to show up on the highway driving and for some distance. Your VW dealer has a fix for this problem for about $100. It's an adaptor for your wiring harness that goes on your AFM. It is real simple to attach and no modifcations are needed. If you check the archives you will also find that you can fix this problem yourself by soldering in a resistor on the harness for only a couple of bucks.
