Ok, first the solutions to my questions . . .

1. I used "Goo Gone" to take the sticker residue off the pop top. Then I used a bleach based mildew cleaner to clean the rest of the pop top. It all looks magnificent. Another lister (Bill) suggested putting a coat of "Nu-Gloss" on it, and I plan to do so.

2. I feel really stupid. At the suggestion of fellow lister Steve Green, I went out on Wed. evening and checked the connections on my bulb socket. Although they matched the other side perfectly, they were not in the right place. I had the brown (negative) in the correct position (middle), but the gray and the black wires needed switching. So, once again, I need to remember to try the simple things before making it all too difficult. Thanks to all the help and suggestions from the list, especially David Beierl, who really went out of his way to help me out.

Thanks!

-Patrick
