I just towed my new (new to me) Vanagon home last weekend. I used a towbar & a 94 (yes I'm ashamed--it wasn't mine) Ford Thunderbird. The only problem I had was the towbar used chains to hookup underneath to the frame. The washer fuild resevoir was in the way and had to be removed. Another than that, I towed it about 100 kms no problems. It was actually lighter behind the T-bird than I had expected. I bet it was the only time my van will get to go over 70 mph!! Jason |
