I classic, German, contra-entrepreneurial style, Winkler (of Herne Germany) is woefully unaware of how Americans expect service-minded organizations should operate. For example, unless you speak German and call them directly on the phone, they typically won't respond (or take forever to do so) to email, faxes, or letters.
Detlev Hanschke has been trying to get permission to publish the Winkler catalog on the web (I've even offered to help him do the conversion) -- and Winkler's only concern is that it might "cut into his business" because he sells those catalogs at a profit. Go figure!!! (who said German's weren't a bit crazy -- they'd <bold><underline>double</underline></bold> their business if they gave the information away for free!). Achh!
